Arnold Adams impressed by Belcher, but "I'm going to be sitting on this throne for a while"

A-plus.

That’s the grade that Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Heavyweight King Arnold Adams gives Alan Belcher for Belcher’s 81-second KO victory over Frank Tate on Saturday in Jackson, MS.

Adams was watching Belcher’s performance ringside, getting a good look at the next challenger for his BKFC Heavyweight Championship.

Although it might be tough to praise your future opponent too much, Adams will never be confused for a hater.

“He came in, overcame a significant reach disadvantage, and he got it done in the first round. He took care of his business,” Adams says.

“He showed that he’s better than people give him credit for.”

Adams boasts an 8-1 record in the BKFC Squared Circle. Five of those wins are by KO, including his second-round stoppage victory over Dillon Cleckler in the Main Event of BKFC 25 in May.

“Everybody has tried, but nobody seems to figure me out. I’ve been touched, but I don’t mind being touched. But my response to being touched is different, we even saw that in my most recent fight," Adams says. “I can get hit and keep doing my thing.”

Adams anticipates an exciting fight with Belcher, when the two ultimately do lock horns. But, as the Chicago big man will surely tell you, he only sees his record improving.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again," he says with a smile. "If this is all the heavyweight division has to throw at me, I’m going to be sitting on the throne for a while.”
