Christian “The Terminator” Torres knows his back is against the wall.
After back-to-back losses in the Squared Circle, the Binghamton, NY fighter is hungry for a victory in his return to action at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 50 on Sept. 22 in Denver, LIVE on The BKFC App. He takes on Andrew “The Golden Boy” Yates (1-0, 1 KO) in welterweight action.
“I’m ready to get my hand raised again. This fight is very important because I need to snap this losing skid, and I’m hungry to get back in the win column,” Torres says. “This is a really big fight for me. I have nothing bad to say about my opponent – he’s just standing in my way and I’ve gotta get through him to get to the dub.”
Torres lost his first two matchups of 2023, but his resume does include a pair of impressive victories. He attributes his recent shortcomings in the Squared Circle to not having adequate time to prepare for his short-notice bookings.
“For this one, I’ve had a lot more time to get a good camp in to get my mind right and get my weight right,” he says. “I had a lot more time to prepare for this fight, so this is one that I’m definitely ready for.”
What’s the most likely outcome for his fight in Denver?
“I hope we both bring it,” he says.
“‘Knockout of the Night’ or ‘Fight of the Night,’ I’m just looking to get my hand raised.”
