Dustin “The Disciple” Pague wants all the smoke.
So when he was offered a fight with fan-favorite Joe “Hitman” Elmore at BKFC 51, there was no hesitation to sign on the dotted line.
“It’s a tough fight, but it’s definitely a fight that interests me because I love being in wars with guys – I love challenging myself,” Pague says ahead of his Co-Main Event showdown with Elmore on Sept. 29 in Salem, VA, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“Joe is a big name and people enjoy watching him fight because he puts on a good show, so that’s the kind of fight that I want to be a part of.”
Elmore hasn’t been finished in his four trips to the Squared Circle. Pague predicts that streak ends in Virginia.
“I think I’m going to be the first to stop him,” Pague says. “That’s not me being cocky; I’m going to pick my shots, stick and move. He telegraphs his shots a bit and he always looks for that giant knockout punch, which I think I’ll be able to see coming.”
Pague knows an impressive win over Elmore could earn him a spot in the Top 5 rankings of BKFC's stacked welterweight division. The 36-year-old UFC vet is eager to test his skills against the best of the best.
“My mind is set that I’m winning the belt,” the Carlisle, PA product says. “Whoever I have to beat to get there, that’s what I’m going to do.”
