Erick Lozano 2.0 is ready for battle.

After falling short in his short-notice BKFC debut against Lorenzo Hunt at BKFC 12 in 2020, Lozano makes his long-awaited return to the Squared Circle this weekend. “El Travieso,” as he’s known to fans, takes on former BKFC World Middleweight Champion Francesco Ricchi (5-1, 4 KOs) at BKFC 38 on Friday in Hollywood, FL, LIVE on The BKFC App.

Lozano had just two weeks to prepare for Hunt, who would go on to become one of the most dominant fighters in BKFC history. He’s had a full training camp to prepare for Ricchi, so he’s excited to showcase his improvements since his debut.

“I’m going to be a lot more prepared. I’m going to be more comfortable in there, and I’m going to let my hands fly a little more,” Lozano says.

“I’m going in there to bang.”

The 40-year-old Michigan fighter knows how big of an opportunity this matchup could be for his career, and he’s ready to rise to the occasion and earn his first BKFC victory.

“He’s a former champ, so getting this victory would make a lot of noise and do a lot in getting me a rematch with Lorenzo,” says Lozano, a veteran of 35 pro MMA matches.

“I’d like to finish my career as BKFC Champion, so I need this win.”
