There’s only one thing that BKFC heavyweight contender Juan Torres is afraid of in the fight game – judges.
With that being said, Torres wasn’t sure he had done enough to take home a decision on Saturday, when he and Zach Calmus went five hard, back-and-forth rounds at BKFC 30 in Monroe, LA, LIVE on the BKFC app.
“Judges scare me,” he admits with a laugh
“I hate going to the judges, man, because I’ve been on the wrong side of close calls before. I hate it.”
Torres did enough to take home a split decision, good for his first victory under the BKFC banner.
To celebrate, the big man enjoyed some Whataburger on Saturday and a big steak on Sunday. He’s got a black eye to show for his efforts, but Torres is excited to get back to training and get booked again.
He has one opponent in mind – former NFL and UFC star Greg Hardy.
“I’m ready for Greg Hardy. I was talking to BKFC officials in the back after my fight. I told them I want Hardy, and they said we’ll talk," Torres says.
“God willing, I’ll get the fight, and I’ll show everybody that Hardy isn’t as tough as everybody thinks.”
