Top 3 storylines for BKFC 36 on Friday in New Orleans

Wednesday, Feb 22 2023 by BKFC Staff

BKFC 36, which goes down Friday in New Orleans LIVE on The BKFC App, features the BIGGEST heavyweight bout in bare knuckle fighting history. But that’s certainly not the only reason to watch this weekend’s action.

Here are our Top 3 storylines heading into BKFC 36.

Historic Heavyweight Title Bout

History will be made Friday as the most dominant heavyweight in BKFC history, Arnold “Bomaye” Adams, defends his BKFC World Heavyweight Title once again against his most formidable opponent yet, the undefeated Alan “The Talent” Belcher. Adams has been a pillar of bare knuckle fighting since BKFC’s groundbreaking debut in 2018. He boasts an unparalleled heavyweight resume of seven wins in eight bouts, earning him the No. 3 spot on the BKFC’s Pound-for-Pound rankings. Belcher, meanwhile, looks to improve to 4-0 with another big knockout. The 15-time UFC vet is also 5-0 with five KOs as a professional boxer. There’s nothing bigger than a BKFC World Heavyweight Championship bout, and there’s no two fighters more deserving of this spotlight than Adams and Belcher.

Top Lightweights Battle In The Co-Main Event

Two of the most dangerous lightweights on the planet collide in Friday’s Co-Main Event as No. 1 contender James “Lights Out” Lilley (7-0-1, 4 KOs) collides with the No. 3-ranked Bobby “ODB” Taylor (5-1, 4 KOs). The winner of this highly anticipated fight will likely be next in line for a shot at BKFC World Lightweight Champion Luis “The Baboon” Palomino (8-0, 3 KOs), and both fighters are ready to leave it all on the line in the Squared Circle.

Fully Loaded Fight Card

Friday’s Main Event and Co-Main Event are definitely worth the price of admission alone, but BKFC 36 is stacked from top to bottom with a full slate of action-packed fights. The event’s Feature Fight sees the No. 3-ranked welterweight Kaleb “Lionheart” Harris (5-4, 4 KOs) battle Brad “Machine Gun” Kelly (3-1, 2 KOs). Andrew Angelcor (2-0, 1 KO) and David “The Boss” Bosnick (1-0) lock horns in a highly anticipated lightweight showdown. Nineteen-year-old Tyler “Cat-5” Sammis, the youngest fighter on the BKFC roster, looks to climb to 2-0 with a second straight KO against the debuting Cody “Lightning” Schieve in the featherweight division. Several other hungry prospects are ready to make a statement at BKFC 36, including light-heavyweights Tony “The Way” Jenkins (1-0) and Avery Duke “The Nuke” Sensley (1-0), welterweight Brandon “The Shredder” Shavers (1-0) and middleweight Brett Williams (1-0), amongst several others.
