BKFC 1: Eight Man Heavyweight Tournament Quarterfinals
Jun 02 2018 |
Lewis Rumsey has been around in the big leagues of bare-knuckle since BKFC 1 when he faced former UFC heavyweight champion, Ricco Rodriguez. Besides that, he has faced a murderer’s row of bare-knuckle heavyweight assassins since the promotion’s inception including Bobo O’Bannon and the new signee, Pat Brady.
Rumsey brings a Muay Thai style of fighting with light footwork and snapping shots. With 28 professional fights in MMA from 2010 to 2017 and an amateur career that began three years prior, Rumsey is a seasoned vet to say the least. He likes to work off of a crisp jab to set up combos and stay out of harm's way if possible, but he welcomes a good old fashioned scrap.
Rumsey holds a BJJ brown belt which he is proud of and this shows that even though he’s deep into his martial arts career, he is learning every day and looking to evolve his game in any way possible.
Rumsey has daughters who he is teaching in the ways of combat and they are all up and coming wrestlers with nice resumes of their own. He helps coach them and has aided in the Marine Corps Junior and 16 & under nationals team.
