Pro MMA Record: 5-6-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Levi Costa entered the Squared Circle from the world of mixed martial arts. Costa’s foundational style in MMA is BJJ which is no surprise being from Rio de Janeiro, but he got heavy hands and has stood in there with a high level of bare-knuckle competition. Josh Copeland and Josh Burns are two of the more notable names in the heavyweight division and the Brazilian has toed the line with both of them.
Costa has proven that he can get rocked, get back up and come back to win as he did against Burns. If a fight is initially not going his way, Costa will continue to push forward and look for the finish. His fights will end before the final bell and someone is going down in violent fashion! The southpaw looks to parry punches and catch jabs before unleashing his most powerful weapon, an overhand left, which demands respect from whoever he faces. Also, having a solid base and clinch game, Costa is very well-rounded within the BKFC ruleset.
The heavyweight is in great shape and trains relentlessly through fight camp. His social media is mostly training and conditioning footage along with some tutorials of BJJ techniques and of course fighting. He’s won gold in North American Grappling Association tournaments and is one of these modern age grapplers who believes it’s more practical to train and fight with no gi. Costa is always entertaining and has a will to win even when he is facing a higher level of competition so expect his effort to match his skillset when he toes the line!
