Carl ‘The Anishinaabe Kid’ Deaton III is an American mixed martial artist with extensive experience including some UFC fights. He’s very proud of his Native American heritage and always wears war paint in weigh-ins. His nickname comes from the Anishinaabe people which are native to the Great Lakes area in Canada and the U.S.
Deaton III has a very well-rounded mixed martial arts game that should translate well to bare-knuckle. Most of his MMA wins came by submission but he is no fish out of water on the feet by any means.
Carl Deaton III was born in Michigan and relocated to Las Vegas to focus more on his fight career and it’s served him well. Despite going 0-2 in the UFC, Deaton does look improved fight after fight. He has a high-level matchup in his debut against Ramiro Figueroa. That’s a tough matchup for most but with Deaton III’s skillset, warrior spirit and raw toughness, it’s more of an intriguing one.
There isn’t a sport that the fighter doesn’t love. From curling to golf to basketball, Deaton is a massive sports fan and an avid fisher. He spends a lot of free time outside in nature. He’s also a fitness fanatic and stressed to his followers the importance of taking care of your body and eating clean.
