Am MMA Record: 3-3-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Trai Santos fights out of Wichita, Kansas coming from the gym known as JMTK. He holds an amateur MMA record of 3-3 fighting mostly in midwest promotions like Blue Corner Battles and KC Fighting Alliance. Most of his wins come by knockout including two wins coming very early in round one. In fact, out of Santos’ six MMA fights, four of them have finished early within round one and the other two by decision. Santos is a purple belt in BJJ and spends nearly all of his free time training.
Since turning pro, Santos has struggled a bit shifting gears in BK boxing having fought Nick Villar to a draw at BKFC 23 and losing to Ka’Sim Ruffin at BKFC 39. He looks to get into the win column at the first ever event in Canada against Chad Lucanas.
Trai Santos played collegiate soccer at Friends University in Wichita and as a former midfielder, the guy is a great athlete more than capable of pushing a pace for 10 or potentially 12 minutes in the future. The southpaw likes to be first and last in striking exchanges but does great work as a counter puncher. When his opponent isn’t engaging in enough action to push some counter activity from him, he throws a clean, straight jab to set up combos. With some limited Kickboxing experience as well, Santos knows how to set up effective strikes and keep his punches accurate, landing over half of his punches thrown in his bouts so far.
Santos is a big time dog lover with a Cane Corso puppy named Loki. He’s a proud father of a young son whom he is teaching the culture of combat to. From old school fighting video games to wrestling matches, it’s safe to assume he is allowing for his next generation to have the tools should he choose to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
