Randy ‘The Zohan’ Costa is american mixed martial artist and former UFC bantamweight. He’s faced opponents like Adrian Yanez, Journey Newsom, Guido Canneti and more. After leaving the UFC, Costa made his debut in the BKFC against Mike Trizano in a co-main slot at BKFC 61.
Costa earned himself a reputation of a striker in his MMA days and with all of his bouts ending by finish, one way or the other, he’s got a great style for the BKFC. Expect pressure and a disrespect for his opponent’s abilities as a very confident and technical striker with some solid power.
A sixth grade Costa began boxing and two years later, kickboxing. Once he reached high school, Costa took up wrestling and later BJJ to round out his game. He formally began training mixed martial arts between his junior and senior years at Taunton High School. In his amateur days, Costa went on a three fight run, winning all bouts by T/KO. He continued that momentum through an additional four professional fights and finally picked up his first loos in the UFC against Brandon Davis via rear naked choke.
Randy Costa is very spiritual and loves to travel with his significant other. He is a professional scuba diving instructor and spends as much time outdoors as he can. His nickname ‘The Zohan’ is likely partially coined from the comedy movie but also the real meaning of Zohan which can be described as “humanity’s full potential.”
