Dionisio Ramirez didn’t need a second round in his bare knuckle debut at BKFC Fight Night Omaha.
Ramirez dropped Kassius Kayne twice before their battle of debuting Omaha, NE fighters was stopped with just one second left in the first frame of their welterweight showdown at the sold-out Liberty First Arena in Omaha.
As much as Ramirez may want to put on long, exciting fights for his hometown fans, he knows his first objective is to take care of business as quickly as possible.
“I kind of wanted it to be a war, but one of my cousins said something that really grounded me,” Ramirez recalls.
“He said, ‘Those are your inner demons, you’re going to do what you want to do. But at the end of the day, this is warfare. If you can get it done quick, get it done quick and save yourself from injuries.’
“The sooner I can get somebody out, the better.”
Mission accomplished for Ramirez, who would be happy to have a quick turnaround in the Squared Circle.
“Who I am today, with the knowledge that I have and the grit that I have, I’m excited to display more of that to the world.”
