The third time was a charm for Eduardo Peralta.
After a pair of ill-fated trips to the Squared Circle, Peralta upped his BKFC record to 1-2 on Friday with a fourth-round TKO over Brandon Meyer in their lightweight clash at BKFC Fight Night Omaha in Omaha, NE.
Peralta wasn’t discouraged by his previous losses. One defeat came to the surging Dakota Cochrane, and one came against former BKFC title challenger Howard Davis.
“Even though I didn’t get the win in my first two fights, I wasn’t discouraged. I knew that I had it in me to do well in the sport,” Peralta says. “I was fighting good competition, and it made me believe that I could get in there and hang with anybody.”
That being said, there’s no doubt that winning is better than losing.
“It feels amazing. There’s nothing better than having your hard work pay off with a win,” the 30-year-old Dodge City, KS product says.
“Now we’re just ready to keep moving forward.”
Peralta would like a quick turnaround in the Squared Circle. He’d love to rack up his second BKFC win before the end of the summer.
“I’ll be back to training soon and I’ll be ready to go again soon,” he says.
“Someday I’d like to fight for a belt,” he adds when asked about his goals with BKFC. “I’ve got what it takes to be great in this sport – a lot of grit and a lot of motivation.”
