Golden Tripleheader Headlines Friday's BKFC 62

Golden Tripleheader Headlines Friday's BKFC 62

Sunday, Jun 16 2024 by BKFC Staff

Three BKFC World Titles are on the line Friday at BKFC 62 under the bright lights of the iconic Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.

The two best featherweights in the sport collide in Friday's Main Event as Great Falls, MT’s Kai "Hefty Bag" Stewart defends his BKFC World Featherweight Championship for the second time against Miami’s Bryan "El Gallo" Duran. Stewart and Duran boast a combined BKFC record of 11-0, with eight of those wins coming by knockout. Couple that with the fact that these two gentlemen can’t stand each other, and it’s highly unlikely the judges will be necessary for Friday’s hotly anticipated headliner. Don’t blink.

Keith "The Rockstar" Richardson defends his BKFC World Bantamweight Championship for the first time against the red-hot Alberto “El Indio” Blas in Friday's Co-Main Event. Richardson is 4-0 on the strength of three straight stoppage victories. Most recently the Rock Hill, SC product defeated Reggie Barnett Jr., then the No. 2 fighter on the BKFC Pound-for-Pound rankings, in the Main Event of BKFC 52. But the unbeaten Blas might prove to be Richardson's toughest task yet in the Squared Circle. The Cuban-born Miami product is looking to smash his way to 5-0 with a fifth straight, first-round KO under the BKFC banner.

It will either be a repeat or redemption in Friday's Feature Fight – a hugely anticipated rematch between Jared "Captain Deadpool" Warren and JoMi "The Archangel" Escoboza for the vacant BKFC Light-Heavyweight Title. These hard-hitting big men first did battle in 2022, with the Tampa, FL product Warren taking home the win. They've been on a undefeated collision course ever since then; Warren is 2-0, 1 NC with two knockouts since their fight, and the Dominican Republic-born Miami fighter Escoboza is looking to improve to 3-0 since their first action-packed bout. With a combined bare knuckle fighting record of 15-3, 1 NC, there are no more fitting fighters to lay claim to the vacant BKFC World Light-Heavyweight Championship.

Before Friday’s golden tripleheader, BKFC 62 also features a packed slate of undefeated fighters who could very well also be fighting for BKFC World Championships in the future. Among them are bantamweights Chris “Dynamite” Garcia (3-0, 2 KOs) and Justin “Joy Boy” Ibarrola (3-0, 1 KO), heavyweight Leonardo “El Zombo” Perdomo (3-0, 3 KOs), featherweight Edgard “The Dream Killer Plazaola (2-0, 2 KOs) and female flyweight standout Christine "El Abusadora" Vicens (2-0, 1 KO).

All the action, as always, airs LIVE globally on The BKFC App.
