Luis Palomino wants to KO Austin Trout, Mike Perry in 2024

Luis “Baboon” Palomino’s body of work in the BKFC Squared Circle is unparalleled.

He’s the only fighter to ever begin their career with nine straight wins. If he’s victorious in his next fight, he’ll be the only combatant in BKFC history to win 10 straight bouts. He’s the only fighter to ever sit atop the BKFC Pound-for-Pound rankings.

With all that he’s accomplished so far in his career, it might be understandable if Palomino took his foot off the gas pedal a bit. Countless elite fighters over the years have fallen victims to complacency at the top of the food chain. But easing up the intensity isn’t in the Peruvian-American’s DNA.

“I can’t ease up at all because I’m running against the clock – that’s my only opponent. I feel amazing at my age – there’s absolutely no signs of slowing down in any aspect of my game – and I’m moving at full throttle,” says Palomino, who turned 43 in October.

“I would never take my foot off the gas; I want to be as active as possible because I have a lot of great fights in me still. In a lot of ways, I feel like I’m just getting started.”

Palomino returns to action against former World Boxing Association champ Austin “No Doubt” Trout at BKFC 57 on Feb. 2 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE on The BKFC App. Trout is 1-0 in the Squared Circle after defeating UFC legend Diego Silva via TKO at KnuckleMania in February.

Palomino predicts another highlight-reel knockout victory over Trout in their Main Event matchup. After that, he’d love to add the King of Violence Championship belt to his trophy case with a showdown against “Platinum” Mike Perry, who recently smashed his way to 4-0 in the Squared Circle with a TKO victory over Eddie Alvarez at BKFC 56.

“I’ve been asking for that fight for two years. Every day I get messages from fans saying that I need to fight Mike Perry,” Palomino says. “In 2024, let’s make it me, ‘The Emperor of BKFC,’ versus him, the King of Violence, and everybody will see who comes out on top – it’s going to be me.”
