Tai Emery couldn’t say yes fast enough when she was offered a bare knuckle fight in Japan.
Emery’s affinity for the East Asian country dates back to her teenage years, when she was eagerly preparing to be an exchange student in Japan. Unfortunately the trip never materialized, but Emery still remembers bits and pieces from her Japanese language lessons.
“This is a really big thing for me; I’ve always wanted to go to Japan,” the energetic Emery says with a big smile.
“I love their culture. They’re so traditional, they’re so polite. There’s just so much history there, and I’m so excited to see it in person.”
Emery is eager to put on a show – and that’s exactly what she’s going to do when she battles fellow fan-favorite Charisa Sigala in a hugely anticipated BKFC fight at Super RIZIN 3 on July 28 at the iconic Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

Representing BKFC in such an exciting new market isn’t something that Emery takes lightly.
“We’re going to put on an amazing show,” she says.
“Charisa is an OG; she’s got a lot of experience, and I’m definitely not one to be played with either. They picked two beautiful girls who also have no problem tapping into our masculine side.
“I know the fans there are very quiet and very respectful, but I want to drive them to the point where they’re screaming with emotion. That’s what BKFC is all about.”
