The third time was a charm for Cristina Crist.
After two unsuccessful trips to the Squared Circle to kick off her BKFC career, Crist was victorious in her third bout at the sold-out National Western Center in Denver. The 34-year-old Rockwall, TX fighter earned the victory by stopping Cassie Robb in the second round of their strawweight matchup.
A lesser fighter may have given up on their dreams of competing at such a high level in the face of back-to-back losses, but that thought never crossed Crist’s mind.
“I just love BKFC. Everybody has treated me so well here,” she says. “And I love MMA too, but it’s just a whole different level of adrenaline that comes with fighting bare knuckle.”
Crist wants to strike while the iron’s hot now that she has her first BKFC victory under her belt.
“I’m healthy, I’ll be back to training soon, and I’ll be ready for anything,” she says. “I want to stay active and get in as many fights as I can.”
