Every single fight is personal for Louie Lopez. Whether he's had enough of Kai Stewarts smack talk, or he's ready to put a "bully" in his place with Bryan Duran, Lopez always wears his heart on his sleeve in and out of the Squared Circle. Carrying his whole life on his back from his Montana pride to his past substance abuse struggles is truly an honorable way to live and fight. He creates pressure for himself before his matchups and no matter the outcome, Lopez comes back harder, stronger and ready for more.
Brawling with fellow Montana native and rival, Kai Stewart for the first ever featherweight title was no doubt a crowning achievement to date for the young fighter. After falling short over a five round war which could have gone either way, he began his journey back to the top of 145.
Perhaps "El Loco" doesn't get recognized for his talent because of the antics. Louie Lopez dominated and finished in round one, one of the scariest guys in his division in Howard 'HD' Davis. Many thought that "HD" would be the one to steal the belt from Kai Stewart and not only was that not the case, Stewart went the distance with the man Lopez made quick work of. With additional knockouts over Gabe Saccheti and Dylan Schulte, all of his wins come by finish.
"El Loco" is a fighter's fighter and seems to be obsessed with getting better every time he enters an agreement to throw some hands. Taking the mentality that gave him struggles in his past and using it towards something positive has proved to be a useful tactic for the Mexican American, and no matter what the fight game throws at him, he will be back for more time after time while improving every step of the way.
