Fighting has taken Austin Trout all around the world.
The reigning BKFC World Welterweight Champion competed across North America, Europe and the Middle East in his gloved boxing career.
He’s eagerly preparing for his first trip to Spain, where he’ll defend his BKFC World Title for the first time against Rico Franco (9-2) in the Main Event of BKFC 67 on Oct. 12 at the historic Marbella Arena in Marbella, Spain, LIVE globally on The BKFC App.
“This is my first time going to Spain, and I couldn’t be more excited – I can’t wait to put a show on,” Trout says with a big smile.
“I’ve been Googling Marbella and I’m just so excited because it looks absolutely beautiful there. It’s so pretty, and I can’t wait to check it out.”
The irony isn’t lost on Trout that he’s traveling to one of the most beautiful countries in the world to put on a spectacle of violence and brutality in the Squared Circle.
“It’s ironic that we’re coming with destruction and violence,” the Las Cruces, NM product says with a chuckle, “but fighting is definitely an art in itself.”
Trout is keen on putting on another masterful performance in the Squared Circle after he dethroned Luis Palomino for the BKFC World Welterweight Title in the BKFC 57 Main Event in February.
"I'm not looking to leave this one in the hands of the judges," he says. "I'm going out there to make a statement."
