Bobby “ODB” Taylor believes he’s one big win away from a shot at the BKFC World Lightweight Title.
That golden stepping stone is waiting for him Friday in the form of Jeremy Stephens at BKFC 65 at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, UT. Their Co-Main Event bout will air LIVE globally on The BKFC App.
Taylor is admittedly an admirer of Stephens’ body of work and has enjoyed several of his 34 bouts under the UFC banner.
“I really liked watching him in the UFC. He always came to bang and he’s got power. Aggressiveness is probably his biggest strength,” says Taylor, the No. 5 contender in the stacked BKFC lightweight division.
“I watched him fight in the UFC, but this is the BKFC. This is a different sport, a different time, and I’m a different beast. He’s just another opponent to me.”
The Middleton, TN product sees the BKFC World Lightweight Championship belt around his waist by the end of 2024.
“I’m not looking past Stephens by any means, but the belt is the goal. Stephens is next, but the belt is the goal,” he says.
“I started training later than most fighters. I’ve always just fought for the thrill of the fight, but now I’m coming for that belt.”
