There are few bigger winners from KnuckleMania V, the biggest event in BKFC history, than Brandon “Beastmode” Meyer.
On Saturday, in front of a record crowd of more than 17,000 screaming fans at the iconic Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Meyer scored his third BKFC victory with a one-punch KO over Zedekiah Montanez in the second round of their action-packed matchup on DAZN.
At the most talked-about showcase event in BKFC history, Meyer shared Knockout-of-the-Night honors with newly crowned BKFC World Heavyweight Champion “Big” Ben Rothwell and Kaine Tomlinson Jr.
“I couldn’t have scripted it any better,” Meyer says with a smile.
“If somebody would’ve told me that I’d even just be fighting on KnuckleMania V, the biggest event in BKFC history and one of the biggest events in Philadelphia history, I would probably say that’s a little farfetched.
“But it happened, and I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around it. It’s pretty surreal.”
KnuckleMania V marked Meyer’s fifth trip to the Squared Circle. A reputation for gritty, hard-nosed performances has made the Omaha, NE lightweight a rising star in bare knuckle fighting. Saturday’s highlight-reel KO should pave the way for more big opportunities in the future.
“That fight was me letting everybody know that I’m not one of those guys who just comes to BKFC, fights a couple times and then walks away. No, I’m here to stay,” Meyer says. “I’ve now proven that I have knockout power in both hands. With my confidence and preparation, I feel like the sky’s the limit.”
