Fans may know Howard “HD” Davis for his flashy striking, his eye-catching appearance, and his body of work in the BKFC Squared Circle. But there’s a lot more to the proud Broward County, FL product than meets the eye.
“One thing that BKFC fans might not know about me is that I’m always having fun and I have a great sense of humor. I always try to make people laugh and put smiles on faces for whoever’s around me,” he says with a laugh.
“I had a very hard upbringing and didn’t have a lot to smile about for a long time. But, now that I’m older, I’m just grateful that I’m here. I’m blessed by God to be here and in the position that I’m in, so I just want to give back as much as I can.”
That’s a primary reason why Davis is so motivated to climb the BKFC rankings, and he’s dialed in for the biggest opportunity of his blossoming career. Davis takes on Luis Palomino, the former two-division BKFC World Champion, in the Main Event of BKFC 70 on March 27 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE globally on DAZN. Davis is looking to smash his way to 8-2-1 under the BKFC banner with a third straight stoppage victory over the legendary Palomino.
This is an opportunity that Davis has been waiting for since his impressive promotional debut at BKFC 22 in 2021.
“Whenever I’ve been asked over the years, I’ve respectfully said that I wanted this fight,” Davis says.
“He was the Pound-for-Pound king and undefeated with a couple belts, and I’m all about challenging myself to be the best fighter that I can be. It’s not about picking on people that I can beat; I want to test myself against the greatest opposition possible.”
Davis is quick to praise Palomino for his one-of-a-kind resume in bare knuckle fighting, but he has the utmost confidence in his abilities at this stage of his career.
“I see me pulling out my belt and putting it to his (expletive),” he says.
“It doesn’t matter who’s in there against me. Whoever’s standing across from me in the ring, they’re getting the belt.”
