Christine Ferea can breathe a sigh of relief heading into the holidays.
On Saturday, she was in top form in her title defence against Christine Vicens in their matchup for the BKFC World Women’s Flyweight Title at the sold-out Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE worldwide on DAZN.
Saturday’s bout was Ferea’s first trip to the Squared Circle since her highly criticized, split decision victory over Jade Masson-Wong in the Main Event of BKFC 65 in September.
“I feel a lot better today than I did four days ago,” Ferea says with a laugh. “I feel like there’s been a weight lifted off my shoulders.”
Ferea is the greatest female fighter to ever grace the Squared Circle. She is now 10-1 on the strength of eight straight victories. The Las Vegas, NV fighter is now first all time among female fighters in BKFC history for wins (10), victories by stoppage (seven) and her current eight-fight tear is the longest winning streak by any female fighter in BKFC history.
“I feel amazing,” she says. “I feel like I can enjoy the holiday, because bad performances eat me up. It’s my job as a professional to perform to the best of my abilities every time I step into the ring; anything less is unacceptable.”
It’s yet to be determined who Ferea will fight next. Regardless of who’s standing across from her in the Squared Circle, her game plan will be the same.
“I’m going to be relentless,” she says, “and I’m going to be moving forward.”
