Crystal Van Wyk is riding high into her return to the BKFC Squared Circle.
At BKFC 69 on Friday, she meets Emma Murray in women’s strawweight action under the bright lights of Atlanta’s Gas South Arena in BKFC’s long-awaited Georgia debut.
“I definitely feel like I’m going to win this one,” the South African Van Wyk says ahead of her fight Friday, which is streamed globally on The BKFC App.
“I’ll be going for the stoppage from the beginning of the fight, but I’m also ready for a five-round war as well. I’m confident because I’ve been training really hard and I’m ready. “
Van Wyk has been working tirelessly to return to the win column after tasting defeat in her BKFC career for the first time in her most recent bout against Sarah Shell.
“I’ve gone back to the drawing board and I’ve been working a lot on my footwork and head movement. BKFC is just like any sport — it takes you a lot of time to reach its highest level. But every fight I feel more comfortable and I really do enjoy this sport,” she says.
“This is the most fun that I’ve had with any combat sport.”
But Van Wyk isn’t just here to have fun.
“My goal is to eventually get a shot at the title,” she says, “so my plan is to just work my way up the rankings and prove myself with each and every fight.”
