Doug Coltrane is only looking forward.

The heavy-handed Smithfield, NC product has spent enough time dwelling on his most recent fight – a second-round stoppage loss to David Mundell for the BKFC World Middleweight Championship in the Main Event of BKFC 53.

“You’ve got to keep moving forward, but I took a lot away from that fight,” Coltrane says.

“I was in there with the best guy in the world and I think a lot of good things came with it, even if I’m not satisfied with my performance or the outcome.

“I’m ready to move on and get back on track.”

“ColdRed” is gearing up to return to the win column against Zeb Vincent at BKFC Fight Night Kansas City at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS on Aug. 16, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.

“I’m going to get back to being me; that’s putting people to sleep,” he says. “I know my opponent is tough. But when I do land and touch him the right way, it’s going to be lights out.”

Coltrane believes a convincing win over Vincent will put him right back into title contention.

“I still think I’m going to get the belt,” he says.

“When I do, it’s going to be even sweeter. When I do make it back, I’ll be much better prepared – mentally and physically – so I’m working really hard for that second opportunity.”
