Franco Tenaglia knows BKFC will be a knockout in Spain.
On Saturday in the Main Event of the organization’s hugely anticipated debut in Spain, the Argentinian-born, Spain-based fighter will battle fellow undefeated combatant Tony “Loco” Soto for the vacant BKFC World Lightweight Title at the iconic Marbella Arena in Marbella, Spain, LIVE worldwide on DAZN.
“I have so many friends and supporters here, so I’m very excited to put on a show close to home,” he says. “This is going to be an amazing night for everyone in attendance; it’s going to be an electrifying event, and the start of something special for the organization in Spain.
“I know the sport of bare knuckle fighting is going to be very popular here,” he adds. “Martial arts in general are very popular here, and there’s no combat sport more exciting than BKFC.”
Tenaglia is the No. 4 contender in the stacked BKFC lightweight division. He is 3-0 in his BKFC career, with all but one of his wins coming by stoppage.
He most recently defeated fellow fan-favorite James Lilley to win the inaugural BKFC European Lightweight Title in the Main Event of BKFC 60. Tengalia is happy to hold that belt, but the 28-year-old Spanish fighter can’t stop thinking about having the BKFC World Lightweight Title belt around his waist this weekend.
“I’ve been working my whole life for this moment,” he says. “I’ve worked so hard and have sacrificed so much my entire life, and it’s all leading up to this moment.”
Tenaglia is happy to do his talking in the Squared Circle.
“I don’t have anything to say to my opponents before the fight,” he offers. “I just hope they’re healthy, in excellent shape and feel very brave on fight night. I only want to fight my opponents at their best.”
