Justin Ibarrola is determined to cap off his breakout year with an exclamation point.
On Saturday, the 26-year-old Delray Beach, FL fighter will look to improve to 6-0 with his fourth BKFC victory of the year against Derek Perez at BKFC on DAZN: Hollywood at the legendary Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, LIVE worldwide on DAZN.
“This is the healthiest and most disciplined I’ve been the entire year, so I feel great right now. I’m itching to get in there to make a statement,” Ibarrola says.
“This is the sharpest I’ve felt, the quickest I’ve felt, and the most powerful I’ve felt,” he adds. “I’m right on the edge of reaching my best.”
The battle-tested Perez should prove to be the stiffest competition that Ibarrola has faced so far. The five-time BKFC vet has shared the Squared Circle with former BKFC World Bantamweight Champion Keith Richardson and former BKFC World Bantamweight Championship challenger Ryan Reber.
All eyes will be on the Squared Circle on Saturday in BKFC’s final must-see event of 2024 on DAZN. It won’t come easily, but Ibarrola hopes a big win this weekend will help pave his way to an eventual title reign in the stacked BKFC bantamweight division.
“Derek Perez is one of those guys that you fight on your way to the title. Knocking him out should set me up for that title shot,” he says. “But I’m not here to act like a Champion; I’m here to be the Champion.”
