Does Keith Richardson see the BKFC World Bantamweight Title belt back around his waist in 2025?
“Absolutely,” the former champ says matter of factly.
“The Rockstar” lost his belt in his most recent trip to the Squared Circle, when his perfect BKFC record was marred by the undefeated Alberto “El Indio” Blas at BKFC 62 in June.
The loss has ignited a new flame in Richardson as he prepares for battle with the unbeaten Michael “Papa G” Larrimore (2-0) in the Main Event of BKFC 69 on Dec. 6 at Gas South Arena in Atlanta, GA, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.
“It’s been a really long time since I’ve taken an L,” Richardson says.
“I’ve always killed myself in the gym, but it’s been a while since I’ve had that hungry feeling. Sometimes it’s hard to stay hungry when you get to the top. That’s one of the biggest challenges when you hold the belt.
“But for this camp, I’ve been hungry,” he adds. “I’m hungry to be back in there, and I’m hungry to get my belt back.”
Richardson is 4-1 under the BKFC banner, with all but one of his wins coming by stoppage. The hard-hitting Rock Hill, SC product is eager to end 2024 with a big win at the expense of Larrimore.
“I’m going to let the opportunities present themselves instead of chasing after them. I got a little too aggressive in my last fight. I threw a big shot, missed, and got countered hard with a big shot,” Richardson says. “I see myself getting my hand raised in Atlanta, and I’m always looking to finish the fight.”
