Mike "Mighty Mouse" Hansen kicked off BKFC Fight Night Pechanga with a bang.
In the first fight of the night at the recent sold-out event at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, CA, the debuting Anaheim fighter picked himself up off the canvas and rallied for a first-round TKO victory over Anthony Yost.
Hansen has an extensive background in combat sports and has been trying to get on a BKFC card for the better part of three years. It’s safe to say it was worth the wait.
“I’ve wanted this opportunity with BKFC for so long, and I was just super, super grateful that (BKFC Matchmaker Nate Shook) gave me my one shot – and I definitely delivered,” Hansen says.
“I knew I had to deliver.”
Hansen’s resume includes a number of gloved boxing bouts and seven professional MMA fights. Despite that, he felt right at home dropping his gloves.
“This is the first time that I’ve felt super comfortable and in my element right before a fight. I can’t explain it, but I felt so comfortable without gloves,” he says.
“Now, I’m just looking forward to seeing how far I can go with BKFC. I think I can be a real problem in the BKFC flyweight and bantamweight divisions.”
