Mike Jones has a simple reason for why he’s coming back for a second fight in the BKFC Squared Circle.
“I just want to fight,” he says with a smile.
“I have a hard time turning down money to fight people, so I answered when BKFC called.”
The 34-year-old Riverton, UT light-heavyweight returns to action against Diego Romo on Sept. 6 at BKFC 65 at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, UT, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.
Jones is a competitor, so he’s hungry to turn the page on his BKFC debut – a loss to Erick Lozano at BKFC 56 in December. Now that Jones has a BKFC fight under his belt, he believes he’ll be that much more prepared for his second effort.
“Absolutely,” he says.
“Now I’ll know how to stay calm in there and just fight my fight instead of wasting all my energy on stupid things, trying to kill my opponent with each punch (laughs).”
Regardless of the result at BKFC 65, it sounds like fans of bare knuckle can expect to see a lot more of Jones in the Squared Circle.
“I just want to fight,” he says.
“I’ve still got some good years left in me, so I’m going to fight until my body tells me to stop. I’d really like to move up the rankings and make some money.”
