Life comes at you fast in the BKFC Squared Circle.
Natalie Gage learned that firsthand in her bare knuckle debut on Saturday at BKFC 61 at the legendary Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT.
“It was crazy,” the Indianapolis, IN fighter says.
“It was really overwhelming in a lot of ways. The production was amazing, the entire crew was amazing. It’s such a well-run show, but I almost felt like I was in shock until I got home on Sunday. Like, ‘Wow, we really went and did it!’”
Relying heavily on her extensive background in amateur gloved boxing and MMA, Gage remained composed under the bright lights and earned a second-round stoppage victory over Boston’s Sarah Click.
“Fighting with the gloves off, there’s nothing that really prepares you for that quite like actually doing it. As soon as the bell went off, you don’t even think about it, you just fight, and then you don’t think about it until later,” she says with a laugh.
Gage, who owns a remodeling company, is already thinking about her return to the Squared Circle.
“I’d love to just keep fighting and see how far I can make it up the rankings,” she says. “I know it’s a long way to the top. But after how I felt in Saturday’s fight, I’d love to keep going and see how far I can make it, and eventually hopefully someday try my hand at the title.”
