The Strode Show has arrived.
“Yes, it has,” the personable Andrew Strode says with a smile. “This is my era.”
On Friday at BKFC 67, Strode cemented his status as a top contender in the bustling BKFC flyweight division with a six-knockdown performance against Chancey Wilson, then the No. 4 contender in the weight class, at the sold-out Denver Coliseum in Strode’s hometown of Denver, CO.
“I’m blessed,” Strode says.
“Chancey is a really tough veteran of the sport who definitely came to fight, so it feels really good to get that win under my belt. It feels great because this is what I’ve been dreaming about – I’ve been dreaming about being 10-0 and a face of BKFC, like Mike Perry. I know I can get there if I just keep working.”
Work ethic has never been an issue for Strode, who’s been training as a gloved boxer for almost two decades. Despite jumping out to a 6-0 start in his professional gloved boxing career, the 27-year-old Strode believes bare knuckle fighting is a better fit for him than any other combat sport.
“I’ve got the explosiveness, the talent and also the savageness to excel in bare knuckle. Most people would rather do traditional boxing or even MMA, but I truly believe that this sport was made for me,” he says.
“I’ve got heavy hands – I just look skinny (laughs).”
Strode has a lot of respect for his fellow BKFC flyweight contenders, but he sees the belt around his waist in 2025.
“That’s my goal."
