“Super” Chad Lucanas had two big takeaways from his BKFC fight Saturday at the sold-out River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Lucanas earned his second BKFC victory and took home a valuable lesson – “I’m (expletive) good at this,” the Edmonton lightweight says with a laugh.
Lucansas is now 2-0 with back-to-back, first-round finishes to kick off his BKFC career following Saturday’s 75-second TKO over Zach Pannell.
“I proved to everyone that my first fight wasn’t a fluke,” he says. “I’m no one-trick pony.”
Lucanas’ life has changed a lot since he signed his first bout agreement with BKFC. Sports fans around Edmonton are starting to recognize him for his efforts in the Squared Circle, and he regularly hears how kids in the city view him as a role model.
Lucanas’ confidence is sky high, but he isn’t letting his early success take a toll on his impressive work ethic.
“I’m not where I want to be yet. I’m on my way, but this is just the beginning. This is the kind of stuff that I’ve dreamed about, but this isn’t where my story is going to end,” he says.
“I’m just getting started.”
