Friday’s fight with Howard Davis has been a long time coming for James “Get Down” Brown.
“I’ve been wanting this fight since I started fighting with BKFC,” Brown says heading into his showdown with Davis at BKFC 66 in Hollywood, FL at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“He’s always been the best guy in the featherweight division, so he’s who I’ve had my eyes on since I arrived.”
Brown will be looking to improve to 4-0 against Davis, a former BKFC World Featherweight Championship challenger who boasts a 6-2-1 record in the Squared Circle. Davis is the No. 3 contender in the BKFC featherweight division, and Brown is the No. 4 contender.
The betting public may side with the more experienced Davis in this must-see featherweight battle. But don’t tell that to the unbeaten Brown.
“I feel like I’m better than him,” the Wilmington, NC product offers.
“He’s got skills in all the areas that I’m skilled in; I just think my skills are a little bit sharper.”
Brown believes he’s already the most dangerous fighter in BKFC’s stacked featherweight division, and he’s more than happy to prove it in the Squared Circle.
“I’ll fight anybody on the roster until I get the belt. I’ve wanted to fight all the Top 5 guys, but it seems like they’re just waiting on (BKFC World Featherweight Champion) Kai Stewart,” Brown says.
“But I don’t want to wait for anybody – I want to stay active and make it undeniable.”
