Great things happen to those who are loyal and work hard.
So it’s fitting that Zach “Shark Attack” Calmus, BKFC’s ultimate company man, recently got the opportunity to take center stage in the momentous 1,000th fight under the BKFC banner.
The historic bout took place Saturday at BKFC 63 in Sturgis, SD. Calmus earned the win – his fourth straight stoppage victory – with a first-round knockout over Ryan Shough in heavyweight action.
Calmus has established himself as one of the biggest stars on the BKFC roster. His hardheaded, relentless style makes Calmus must-see TV on The BKFC App. Still, the proud Gloucester, MA big man is humble when asked about the historic nature of his most recent trip to the Squared Circle.
“People want to see big guys fight. I’m a big guy, Ryan’s a big guy. At the end of the day, heavyweights are the biggest attraction amongst most fans,” Calmus says.
“I have tremendous respect for all fighters, of course. There are amazing fighters in every weight class at BKFC, of course, but there’s nothing that catches your eye and holds your attention like a heavyweight bare knuckle fight.”
