Squire Redfern talks "electrifying" BKFC debut

Squire Redfern has one word for his BKFC debut.

“Electrifying,” the Pala, CA product says with a smile when asked about his first trip to the BKFC Squared Circle on Friday at the sold-out Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, CA.

“The energy that all my people brought was amazing,” he adds. “It was very electrifying feeling all that energy.”

Redfern was similarly electric in his debut, picking himself up off the canvas and brushing aside an eye poke to stop Richard Brooks in the fifth-round of their spirited lightweight clash. The bout aired LIVE globally on The BKFC App.

Redfern has been a martial artist for most of his life. Fighting for BKFC, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion, was an item on his “bucket list.” But now that he has his first bare knuckle fight under his belt, fans can expect to see him back in the Squared Circle.

“I’d love to get back in there,” he says.

“I wanted to do it just to prove to myself that I can, but now that I’ve been in there, I want to keep the motion and momentum going. It seems like they really liked me, and I’d love to be back.”

Redfern believes he has what it takes to make a title run in BKFC.

“I’m just trying to build my name right now, but I wouldn’t be doing this if I wasn’t trying to get the gold,” he says. “I’m definitely trying to make it to the top. That’s every fighter’s goal – to make it to the top.”
